Comments on How to Remove Perspiration Stains from Clothing

We can blame Mother Nature for those awful yellow stains. She must've wanted them to stay because man, are they impossible to remove. Don't buy white dress shirts if you sweat a lot. As soon as you get home, take off the shirt and treat the pit areas with a stain stick and warm water (keep in mind that by this time it may already be too late!). Accept the fact that you sweat like a pig, your sweat stains, and you may have to buy a new shirt every other month if you insist on white shirts.

I tried all the tricks in the book and still couldn't get out old stains. Then I tried rubbing Oxy-clean on the spot and letting it set for an hour before washing. All the spots vanished without a trace!

If you have all white cotton clothing, I've found that boiling it on the stove for about 10 to 20 minutes, and then adding detergent and letting it soak in the hot water for a further 20 to 30 minutes got rid of some really stubborn stains.

Out of curiousity I tried this, and it worked. If you have these yellow pit stains on a white shirt, try putting white whitening toothpaste on the stain and letting it sit for a day or so. Wash and dry it as normal. I put a little more toothpaste on one side than the other, and I could tell a distinct difference, so you may want to be generous. Hope it works for you!
