on 11/22/2005 If you do wash your face nightly, make sure you don't skip any nights. You're more prone to pimples if you are religious about washing your face and then skip a few days. I went on retreat and I forgot my facial cleanser. Now I have 3 huge zits on my face and homecoming is next week.

on 11/22/2005 I have had more skin problems starting at age 30 than I did in the teen years and 20s. I am 50 and have bought books, magazines, and consulted dermatologists.

Here are a few avoidances I have tried.

Replace compact and loose powder puffs often.

Clean your powder brushes often.

Find a convenient method of transferring the loose powder to the puff or brush without repeatedly dipping directly into the powder.

Discontinue using pressed powder or do not leave the puff inside the compact.

Use liquid makeup in a pump or squeeze containers rather than a bottle to reduce cross-contamination.

Do not refresh makeup without a thorough cleansing.
Here's something I tried after a severe outbreak: I stayed home over the weekend (I did not want to go out in public anyway). I used a clear gel medication (Metrogel) prescribed by my primary doctor. I had minimal success with Metrogel on other occasions, but this time I used it steadily for an entire weekend. I cleansed with it several times a day (using a clean cloth and hand towel each time), reapplied the Metrogel, and left it on for a few hours. Repeat the cleansing and application cycle and do not use any makeup. The results on Monday were dramatic.

on 11/22/2005 If you have sensitive skin and acne, benzoyl peroxide could be your worst enemy. It made my skin even MORE sensitive. You should try to find a chirally-correct face care line. I noticed improvements in my face in ten days!

on 12/27/2007 Wash your face in the morning and at night. After exercising or sports, wash your face again to remove any dirt, oil, or sweat which may add up to pimples. There is also no scientific proof that says chocolate and greasy foods create pimples.

on 11/22/2005 Also try rubbing alcohol, for the same reasons as peroxide.

on 11/22/2005 Take peroxide and gently rub it on the affected area. It helps clean out bacteria. That's what works for me!

on 11/22/2005 Always wash your face. Never go to bed with your make-up on. This will only clog your pores. No matter how late at night, I always wash my face before bed. And first thing in the morning.

on 11/22/2005 Use a transparent soap (Neutrogena makes this stuff for different types of skin so you can find something suitable). Anyway, these are supposed to have a really high rinsibility unlike non-transparent ones so they don't leave any residue on your face that might clog your pores after you wash your face....

on 11/22/2005 One a pimple has gotten to it's highest peak, in size, add touthpaste on it and around it. Make sure the toothpaste isnt a little kid toothpaste, it has to be strong. One you apply it, wait for 10 seconds and you will start to feel a tingle meaning it is cleaning the pimple and making it smaller.

on 11/22/2005 Cutting down on fats and chocolate is good for your body...But when they say that it can improve your complexion, Well that's a myth!!
Just be sure to take care of your skin and drink lots of water to clean them out!

on 11/22/2005 Acne is nearly unavoidable as a teenager. There are countless products aimed at preventing and even curing acne that simply dont work. Consult a doctor, see how severe the acne is becoming (since being noticable), and get treatment. Most pyshicians will prescribe over the counter products but many will also offer behind the counter alternatives that can often times be much more reliable. Avoid spending needless money on over the counter products which only work partially. Reclaim your face.

on 11/22/2005 Right when you see a pimple beginning to show but isnt really noticable yet.. make sure to wash your face with soap and WARM water.. (the best is to use the cloths by Noxzema or Ponds, that have a foamy soap in it when you wet it..) Then once you pat dry your face apply toner to your face using a cotton ball. This helps a trememdous amount!! Good luck!

on 11/22/2005 After I use the benzoyl peroxide before going to sleep, in the morning I put Cleocin T on the affected area. Use tis moizturizing lotion as recomended by the bottle and/or the dermatologist. This really helps and one won't have dry , peeling skin. Trust me it will not cause pimples to become bigger or more pimples to arrive.

on 11/22/2005 When you really want to get rid of a pimple fast, a cream that I highly recommend is Benzagel 5... It works very well... I recommend you don't use those overnight patches... They don't do anything.
