on 11/22/2005 You can make a dream-come-true basket for newlyweds by purchasing a champaign bottle and two champaign glasses. Add massaging cream and romantic candles and it will be the most usable present. They will love you!

on 11/22/2005 Because duct tape is so sticky, it's a good idea to wrap the gift first in either wax paper or plastic wrap. Over that, neatly cut pieces of duct tape and place them over the gift. For an extra challenge, place one strip over all seams.

on 11/22/2005 You can recycle baskets from gifts and line them with nice tissue or a cloth napkin. Tuck in small jars of jam, honey, packs of tea, coffee or hot chocolate and some cookies - great gifts for seniors, hostesses, etc.

on 11/22/2005 To wrap a bottled lotion, fragrance or tube of hand cream, you can buy a pair of white athletic socks (colored socks work also). Put a sock in a sock and tuck the bottle or tube inside. Tie at the top with a fancy ribbon and you have two gifts in one!

on 11/22/2005 For wrapping up small soaps, oils, bubble baths, etc., use a face cloth, hand towel or bath towel, depending on size and quantities. Tie up the package with a hair wrap or ribbon - then they'll have some nice products to use in and out of the bathtub.

on 11/22/2005 I would get a pretty basket, lay a baby blanket across the bottom and fill it with miscellaneous baby gift items, then wrap the blanket around the items. Then use a big diaper pin to hold the blanket. The basket can be used in the baby's room afterwards.

on 2/12/2007 For bridal showers buy a yard (or more, depending on the gift) of terry cloth or other cotton cloth to wrap gifts. Newlywed couples only have new things, so this can be used as a rag for dusting or other things.

on 11/22/2005 Wrap a child's gift with Sunday comics and tie it with a jump rope instead of ribbon.

on 11/22/2005 For an outfit or small and soft item, I put it in a large white or brown envelope and let my daughters draw on it and decorate it with stickers. I also buy round stickers for the printer and put my daughters' faces on them. Cute for packages.

on 11/22/2005 This one's obvious: wrap the gift in pictures drawn or painted by the grandchild. OR, photocopy pictures of child, or scan photos into PC and print. Use the pictures decoupaged onto wrapping paper for wrapping gift.

on 11/22/2005 I love to wrap gifts in gift bags, but I use tulle fabric instead of tissue. Buy a yard of tulle in a coordinating color, or a contrasting color for brightly colored bags. Extra tulle can be used as a bow. No more effort, and it looks so pretty!

on 11/22/2005 Wrap a gift with a brown paper grocery bag (of course, with the name of the store on the inside), tie with coarse brown cord or raffia and stick a dried rose in the bow to give a romantic look.

on 11/22/2005 When going to a baby shower, my mom would always wrap the gift in a light baby blanket or cloth diaper, and tie rattles to the top for the "bow" -- always a big hit at the shower!
