on 6/9/2008 I'm a decent swimmer but I really want to become a certified life guard sometime within the next year or so. I'm thinking about taking some advanced swimming courses at my gym to become a really good swimmer. Is this a good idea? Does anyone else have other advice for me? Thanks!

on 2/4/2008 If you are interested in taking a lifeguarding class, you can get it all done in one weekend. You will be trained as an American Red Cross Lifeguard by a guard who has at least 5 years experience as an Ocean guard and at least 7 years experience as a pool lifeguard.
