on 11/22/2005 The Proactiv solution everyone keeps hooting about isn't half as great as people say it is. My nephew has acne terribly, he's been using that stuff for like two years and he still looks like someone beat him with a pizza. Not to mention the fact that my friends have used it and say it hasn't worked for them either. Don't waste your good money on something for the sole reason that a celebrity says it works. Use a little bit of witch hazel on the pimples instead. It works better, and it certainly smells better.

on 11/22/2005 Do not touch your pimples! Wash them with fresh water and soap.

on 11/22/2005 This doesn't help with preventing zits, but it is a simple thing to remember about popping them: never pop a zit unless it is white! Even the biggest, ugliest ones should have a little bit of white at the center. This means that the pus is at the surface and will actually come out if you squeeze it. If it's not white, don't pop the zit; just let it go away on its own. You'll only make your skin worse if you pop it, and possibly scar the area.

on 11/22/2005 Everything I have ever used on my pimples has made my face worse and dried out. Then I used Bioré Ice cleanser. It works great, you can actually fell it working!

on 11/22/2005 Try to avoid chocolate. For some reason, avoiding chocolate does work and helps keep pimples away. Also, try to avoid touching your face or rubbing your eyes during the day. You have a lot of germs on your hands! Keep your hair away from your face, most hair has natural oils that may cause blemishes on your face. These tips work for me, and I hope they work for you. Good Luck!

on 11/22/2005 Never pop your zits! You've all heard this enough times, but it can't be stressed enough. I had a pimple starting to form right on the edge of my top lip, so I washed my face and put a zit cream on it and went to bed. The next day I saw that the zit was bigger. I wanted my face to be clear. I had just dealt with a huge zit under my nose, so I was sick of the pain. So, I tried popping it, but it wouldn't pop. The attempt just made it bigger, white colored, and even more painful. I got a washcloth and soaked it in steaming hot water. I held the cloth on my zit until the cloth became cold, then I heated it up again. I did that for a good five minutes. Then I washed my face, put an astringent on, then put alcohol on it. Now, 2 hours later, the size has gone done, as has the pain, and it looks the same color as my skin! Remember - do not pop your zits!

on 11/22/2005 Don't pick your pimples! Only if you can see a white head should you squeeze it! I have many scars from picking, its just a habit! Exercise, drink a lot of water and eating fruits will do your body good! And always use non-comedogenic products on your face!

on 11/22/2005 1. Toothpaste does work. But make sure to use the pure white paste, no gel.
2. Tea tree oil cloths do not work.
3. During the day wear a tinted cream containing benzoyl peroxide under your foundation.
4. Peel a banana and rub it all over your face, it will heal pimples in a day!

on 11/22/2005 Toothpaste stings a lot when you put it on and I found it made my skin even redder. If you want good results try tea tree oil or egg yolk masque. Also, don't forget to exercise. Sitting on your couch watching TV waiting for your toothpaste masque to dry isn't going to keep those pesky pimples away! Drink water, too. If you want your face to have a fabulous complexion, you're going to have to get off your butt and jog, or bike, or walk your pimple problems away! I hope you found this inspiring and helpful!

on 11/22/2005 Take a bit of sandalwood powder(multani matti) add a few drops of water to it and mix it well. When it becomes a paste, apply it to the affected area and keep it there until it dries. Then, wash the area well. After some time, wash your face with a face wash (but not soap) and apply an antibiotic cream to it. Do not use sandalwood powder for dry skin. Drink lots of water.

on 11/22/2005 A relatively quick fix:
1) Wash the area gently, as usual.
2) Put a little Visine on it (it calms the blood vessels that cause the redness and swelling)
3) Smear a little bit of Bacitracin ointment on it to help heal it. If you use those zit creams, it tends to make the skin scaly!

My friend's dermatologist recommended this when I got a huge zit on my chin on my wedding day! It worked well!

on 11/22/2005 I found out one night that after applying makeup (not too much) and going out, then not washing my makeup off, actually shrank my pimples. They almost disappeared! But proceed with caution - I did the same thing another night and it didn't really help. Well, I guess you could say it did - it brought out the puss (which is another method), but the element of surprise was a key factor I think.

on 11/22/2005 If your skin is under control, and you want to keep it that way, here is what you do:
Wash your face (take off all makeup) before you go to bed. Afterward, put a thin layer of Vaseline all over your face. It feels weird at first, but when you wake up in the morning, your skin is incredibly vibrant and all the pores are smaller. Do this every night. The Vaseline makes a protective barrier and doesn't allow any new pimples to form. Try it, you won't be sorry.

on 11/22/2005 I'm an acne struggler, and I've tried everything. I've always assumed that putting something on my pimples at night will make them better, but that is absolutely incorrect. When you come home from work or school, put on your treatment, and then wash it off when you go to bed. Don't put anything on your face at night. When you sleep, your body makes your dead skin cells shed. If you have something on your face while you sleep, those skin cells are being trapped and that's what causes acne!

If you're looking for a good afternoon treatment for your pimples, get some aspirin or Advil tablets and crush them up, mix with warm water then applying them to the pimple(s). It gets rid of redness and the swelling of the pimple and will leave you with a very small whitehead that you can extract easily with tweezers (if you do it gently). I hope this helps.

on 11/22/2005 Sudocreme is great. It's an antiseptic, yet gentle. It's what they use on babies. Put it on the spot before you go to bed.
