Always read a good book before you go to sleep. Be sure that you don't pick a book that you can't stop reading, or you will be up until all hours.

After dinner I lie down and watch a little T.V. Lying down is good if your not actually sleeping. When it's time to go to bed I start reading until I feel I shouldn't read any more. If this doesn't work try closing your eyes.

Before the sun sets, I take the dog on a 15-25 minute walk. That helps us both sleep well. Also a constant beat like a ticking clock is soothing.

Keep a steady sound in the room (such as a fan running on low), because it won't be loud enough to keep you awake, but it will block out other disrupting sounds in the room or area.
