on 8/8/2006 You should always be on the balls of your feet when punching and your heel should not be firmly planted on the ground. When throwing a punch, you should be pivoting on the same-side foot for maximum power; this cannot be properly done if your heel is on the ground.

on 11/22/2005 Remember that while it is good to keep on the balls of the feet when in the boxing stance, feet should always be firmly on the ground when punching, keeping the heels down to increase the impact.

on 11/22/2005 First, when blocking a punch, block with the elbow (it has more impact). Then try to aim for the side of the head.
