on 11/22/2005 Pennsylvania just joined more than 20 states that have made telemarketing calls illegal if you put your name on their "Do Not Call" list. If you live in PA, you can visit www.nocallsplease.com to have your name removed from all telemarketing lists in the state. For other states, check your official state website or call your state government office to see if you can benefit from this program.

on 11/22/2005 Get your phone listing without an address. Without an address, your name and phone number will not appear on telemarketing call systems. This is cheaper and less bothersome than an unlisted number, and it works!

on 11/22/2005 If they ask for any person in the house, simply say,"Please hold." Leave the phone and let them wait. Five or so minutes later, say that he is on the way. If they wait, annoy them more. If you are eating, tell them to hold and just eat. They can wait!

on 11/22/2005 You have to use the words, "Put my number on your don't-call list." You can't be vague or just say, "Stop calling me."
