on 12/23/2008 For smoke deodorization, we use Thermal Foggers. Thermal Foggers heat solvent based deoderants and turns it into a fog. A smoke particulate measures 4.0 microns in size, a deoderant droplet from the thermal fogger measures 0.5 microns. Because of this, the deoderant has the ability to penetrate and destroy the malodor. Many fire restoration contractors have these devices. At Paul Davis Restoration of Broward, in addition for house fires,we even use them for automobiles with cigarette smoke odors.

on 5/24/2007 Try the Bad Air Sponge, an air deodorizer. I'm very happy with how it works in my home. I get mine from goodbyestinky.com It takes the smell right out of the air.

on 2/12/2007 we used Vamoose 1808T on our daughter's leather jacket and in her closet; it works well at getting the smell of smoke out of things. She took the bottle and used it during a stay at the Marriott (and never got charged for smoking in the room).

on 2/20/2006 Use WD40. Just spray it on the crayon markings on the wall and wipe them off! Works great! WD40 also works good to get stickers off glass and mirrors.

on 1/6/2006 Put 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 tablespoon vinegar, and 2 cups water in a spray bottle and spray the carpets and furniture. Boil a pan of vinegar and walk around the house with it and put cups of vinegar in the corners of the house.

on 11/22/2005 Turn on the air conditioner. Find the area on the cowl in front of the winshield where the air is drawn in and spray any disinfectant (such as Lysol) into the air intake.

The smell is caused by bacteria growth in the residual condensate in the evaporator housing.

on 11/22/2005 What really works well for me is to use an odor eliminating carpet sprinkle. I let it sit before I vacuum. It really freshens the house up. I also burn scented candles a couple of hours before my guests arrive and it really makes my house smell good.

on 11/22/2005 Place a pan of vinegar on the floor of your vehicle. Start the vehicle and turn the heat on high, blowing on the floor across the vinegar. Close all the vehicle windows and doors. Let run for about 30 minutes. (Do this outside or in a ventilated area!)

on 11/22/2005 Don't smoke in your house!! It not only stinks up the furniture, but it leaves a film on your walls, discolors your curtains. The smell sinks into everything, not just your upholstery. I always smoke outside. In the winter, get a heavy winter coat!
