Clean out your folders every semester. Your folders can become so heavy and space consuming that they actually break your locker, which happened to a friend of mine.

Keep an accordion folder with you throughout the school day. It's all the folders you need for your day mixed into one. It's like a binder, but you don't need to worry about punching holes in all of you papers. If you have free time or a study hall all the papers you need are right there, you don't have to rush back to your locker to get them. After each quarter, trimester, or semester empty out all of your papers into folders in you locker, that way you don't have to carry around papers you don't need anymore but still have the papers just in case you need them later on in the school year, or to study for finals.

Ask your teacher if you and the whole class can have 15 minutes a week to clean out your locker, therefore you get away from the class and you and the class have neater and more organized lockers! Plus you might find something you can use or something you have been looking for!

Keep all of your extra supplies in a school box or a small plastic drawer set - this ensures that when you need some more pencils, sticky notes, gum, erasers, or whatever, you'll be able to get it in a snap. Clean out garbage or stuff to take home at least every other week - this keeps your locker clean and easily accessible. And lastly, don't use air fresheners that are too strong - your neighbors may not like the smell. The ones that are meant for cars work quite nicely.

I realize that you might not like your locker combo or locker for some reason, but don't try to switch your locker with a friend. Your school may not allow it and it's stressful. Also, some schools let you change your combo. Ask your school secretary or principal.

If you have a problem forgetting the text books that you need for home work: In between classes when you go to your locker, put the books that you need facing toward you and the ones you don't need facing in the opposite direction. If that doesn't work for you, get classmates email addresses or screen names so you can borrow books.
