min pin's are kind of hard headed so start training your puppy young KAKA. start with getting a clicker or a whistle and dog treats in your hand have either someone hold her leash across from you and whistle or click and give her a treat take steps back little by little ...hopefully she will realize when your out that everytime you click or whistle GOOD comes out of it so she will come back, practice makes perfect! god bless & good luck. -

Coffee- my adorable Min Pin...... Coffee is a young Min Pin, and unlike the usual Min Pin traits, he's actually well behaved. I have no idea how. He doesn't bark that much, he is gentle with my baby siblings and he doesn't chew on any furniture nor shoes etc. The only problem I encounter is him not understanding to not defecate and pee inside!! Please help... thanks -

I brought Hank Williams home at 3 months old. I knew from prior experience with dogs in general that dedicating time with them is crucial for both learning, and functionality. He amazed me with his potty training. Seriously, it took 3-5 days for me to teach him where to go. He would miss on occasion, but 90-95% of the time he would follow the training! Someone above warned of knibbling/hand biting etc. YES! TELL THEM NO! Teach them that biting your hands is NOT good, even at that cute early stage! BE WARNED! Also, my guy is always ready to give kisses, something we love, but you might not love so much. His excitement has brought so much joy to our lives, and we're so happy we brought him into our world. -

I got my Min Pin at about 6 weeks old. Her mother couldn't take care of her anymore because she got Milk Fever. She is very smart. She learned to sit in about 15 minutes. She loves to get walked. She is aloof with strangers and other dogs. Train them in obedience. Repetition is the number one thing to remember with this breed. -

Even as babies Miniature Pinschers are smart, as others have said. We brought home two at 7 weeks old and in two weeks they were both potty trained, love our two older Chihuahuas and have fun. They are night and day, the female is not afraid of anything and the male is our baby. They both love to cuddle, love attention, and have their own seats on daddy's lap and shoulder. They are great dogs for older kids, but with smaller ones it might be a little tough as they are fast and can easily be stepped on by little ones wanting to chase and play. We have older kids and they love them dearly. We spoil them with love and cuddles all the time, however they have already learned the rules and know what is good and bad. They are smart and quick learners, so start out immediately with rules and training. If you do this, then they are sure to be great pals for years to come. We're anxious to have our babies grow with us as our children leave home. It is like having two more babies in the house, that can be fun. Have fun and enjoy. -

When my two Miniature Pinschers start that annoying barking for no good reason (like when my neighbor is mowing the lawn), I spray them with a spray bottle filled with half white vinegar and half water and tell them "No bark." Now all I have to do is show them the bottle and they know I mean business and they run there little behinds in the house. -

The mother of my two dogs was a barker who eventually was debarked. When we got our two home we started very early with Barkbusters and they have never had a barking problem. The male dog will occasionally howl when I leave, but this only occurs immediately after a stay at the kennel, so the first day back I usually do short trips in and out and he gets the message that I will be back. 9 years of pet heaven. -

Be very careful about where you leave pills and medicine, these little guys can get into anything! -

Never hit or harm your Miniature Pinscher in any way, this may lead them to believe such rough play is acceptable with small strangers. If your Miniature Pinschers behavior is out of control, consider pet counseling or talk to your veterinarian about these problems. -

I have two Miniature Pinschers and they are a trip! One thing about having two males they are very stingy with their toys, if the 2 month old is playing with one toy the 1 year old has to have the same toy, if not they start fighting for it. Also Miniature Pinschers are very jealous dogs, so make sure you play with both of them at the same time!
