on 2/6/2008 Great article. I took my 4 year old son to Mass this morning and he liked getting the ashes. Our priest blessed the ashes in front of us and distributed them after the Mass.

on 6/30/2006 Remember that on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, all Catholics are obligated to abstain from any meat (other than fish) and to only eat one meal that day. Another smaller meal is okay, but no snacking, and only water to drink.

On other Fridays in Lent, Catholics do not need to fast, but they may not eat meat (but may eat seafood).
