OH MY GOD. Came across this by accident....do you suppose you can teach us how to remove that annoying tag off of our mattress without injury??? Or, how about "how to blow dry your hair without getting electricuted"? What ever happened to mothers that taught their daughters these things??? Now they leave it up to ehow I see... THIS ARTICLE IS REALLY EXTREMELY SAD!!!!!

The easiest way to "find the right opening" is to use your finger to find your vagina first. You vagina is located below your clitoris and under the inner labia (lips). Your vagina does not go up vertically in a straight line. So, when you insert the tampon it should go back in a slight diagonal. f you are having a hard time putting in a tampon for the first time you may still have remnants of your hymen. See your doctor if you think this maybe the problem. Your doctor will make a hole in your hymen big enough for a tampon to fit through.

you should put pictures it would help alot better because sometimes explaining verbally isn`t good enough. Some people are VISUAL learners.

Just to make a comment about the direction, it would be nice if you had an illustration to go along with the directions because I'm sure many teenagers are struggling to put in a tampon, but let alone not know where to put it.Many teenagers are afraid to ask their parents (mom) about tampons.. trust me i was one of them.
-thank you

1) Tampons are somewhat like syringes. You have to push the lower cardboard tube entirely into the upper tube in order to insert the tampon completely. 2) Before you start pushing the lower tube, you have to insert the upper tube almost totally into your vagina. 3) The important step for a beginner is to find the opening of your vagina, place the tip of the tampon there and then slowly push the upper tube by constantly judging the direction in which the tampon is going in. 4) Keep in mind the fact that you might have to try pushing it from different angles. 5) Once the upper tube is 90% inside, slowly push the lower tube, till the lower tube is totally inside the upper tube. 6) Now you can slowly pull both the tubes out.

My advice is to either sit on the toilet with your legs wide apart, or to stand up and squat down with legs apart and knees bent. Make sure there is a bin in the toilet cubicle or bathroom (if your at home) to throw away the wrapper and the applicator once you've inserted the tampon.

I always find it best to squat down when I'm inserting a tampon. My advice is to simply stand up, bend your knees and put your legs wide apart. This will make it a lot easier to insert it into the vagina. Then open the packet/pouch containing the tampon and place it first in the opening of your vagina. Relax and gently push the applicator into the vagina halfway, then push the inner tube completely into the outer tube, which will simply release the tampon into the vagina. Always wash your hands before and after inserting a tampon.
