Return to article: How to Join Mensa
on 1/26/2007 The truth must be told. Geena Davis and I grew up together in Buttkey, Wyoming. We took the Mensa test together in 1992 and she cheated off me. She then threatened to steal my car if I were to tell anyone. In the end, she became a memeber of Mensa and I became manager of Sally's Beauty Supply. Despite her cheating ways, she did deserve the Oscar for The Accidental Tourist. Well done, Geena. Well done. Sincerely, Boiling Mad Barb
on 11/22/2005 It's an honor to be in a society like Mensa, but remember that scoring high on standardized tests doesn't make you a well-rounded person. You still need to nurture musical or artistic abilities, physical coordination, social skills, sense of humor, etc.
on 2/10/2006 The top 2% is of course relative. And the general population just keeps getting dumber by the day. So if you can't cut the mustard the first time around, just wait and try again. Learning new things in the mean time is a good way to improve your performance. IIRC, logic and problem solving skills make up the bulk of the test.
on 12/16/2005 Be proud if you get in. The test is difficult, and you need more than a well-rounded personality to enter. Looks do not count here, folks. Smarts do.
