on 1/31/2008 I am 32 weeks pregnant and started experiencing swollen fingers. I knew it was time to take my rings off. This is the ONLY thing that worked for me:

1. Take a long piece of floss...maybe about 2-3 feet worth.
2. Thread one end through the ring going towards your palm. Leave a few inches on this end.
3. Now with the other end, wrap the floss around your finger, starting at the ring. Be sure to wrap tightly and evenly spaced. I would wrap the floss very close together.
4. Once you get to the top of the knuckle, you can probably stop. Hold that end tight.
5. Lube up your finger. I tried it without lube and it hurt very bad.
6. Grab a hold of the short end of floss and start winding it upwards.
7. Keep winding even if you think it's not working.
8. This should pop the ring right off! Yes, it will be uncomfortable, but it's worth it to go through a few minutes of pain!

on 12/25/2007 TRIED EVERY THING BUT NOTHING WOULD WORK HAD TO CUT OFF WITH TINSNIPS

on 12/9/2007 Windex is the almighty for getting a stuck ring off if it is a class ring or an engagement ring just put some windex down your finger and twist the ring down the finger till it's off and it will be off in the matter of a minute if you keep twisting it even if there is pain keep twisting.

on 11/25/2007 There is time when all this just does not work. I have been in this situation, to the point of where my finger has become infected underneath the rung because it was tight and stuck and moving it around, wiggling it to get it off just made it worse and it cut into my flesh. The way i got it off was a long tiresome fight but when nothing else works its the only thing that will eventually work. Take a set of crimping pliers, the ones with the thick jaws, squeeze the side of your ring until is flat no longer round. Take a set of heavy duty cutting pliers and work on cutting it. Mine was gold, took an hour of tireless work to cut through it, its the only way i could possible get it off, tried everything else, was this way or off with the finger.

on 11/6/2007 I just have to say WOW for WINDEX!!!! I tried everything from freezing my hand off, to applying a lubricant and nothing worked.....that is until, I tried the Windex! I soaked my finger in the Windex and about 30 seconds later, the ring was off!! Now, I ain't gonna lie, it hurt like something terriable, but it worked!

on 9/2/2007 Yes, yes windex does work. I have had a ring stuck on my finger for over two years and was getting ready to go to the doctors to get it cut off until I read this website. I held my hand up in the air for a couple of minutes, sprayed it with windex and twisted the ring right off. I can not believe it. Try the windex!!

on 7/21/2007 I am 9 months pregnant and was very frustrated that my wedding ring would not come off. My finger was swelling and starting to hurt very badly. Icing my hand for 15 minutes while elevating it above my head helped the swelling to reduce. I was a little skeptical of the Windex, but tried it. After twisting and spraying, the ring came off in about 10 seconds! I was shocked! The Windex truly works. Thank you to those who suggested it. My finger feels so much better!

on 7/17/2007 Windex to the rescue! My diamond and platinum engagement ring had been "stuck" for the past year - the dental floss and icing down methods did not work for me - referenced this site and within minutes of spritzing the Windex, the ring finally came off! Now I can finally get it sized for comfort!

on 3/31/2007 Rubber gloves - I tried everything listed above for 2 days to get my ring off but it was too stuck. My ring was so tight it was digging into my finger and causing some serious pain. Finally, I took some aspiring, rubbed my finger in Prep-H and then held ice over my head (while standing) for about 20 minutes. I then covered my finger in windex, but it didn't work. I ended up sitting on the floor while my boyfriend pulled from above. That didn't work either. To get a good grip he put on rubber gloves while he pulled - so smart. It hurt really bad and took about 5 minutes, but in the end it worked. I'm so glad I didn't have to get my brand new ring cut off!

on 3/24/2007 I've quickly gained some weight recently because of medication and before I knew it, my wedding band and anniversary rings were too tight. I could hardly get them to move at all. I was ready to go to a doctor to get the rings cut off. Then I found this website. I held my hand over my head for about 15 minutes, then sprayed Windex on my finger and the rings came off with very little effort. I can't believe it was so easy!
