on 2/23/2009 First of all, I would go to a stylist and ask them to thin out your hair a bit. Secondly, try leavig a little conditioner in your ends. I love the Sleek Look line by Matrix. Also, get a big tooth comb and flip your hair upside down and gently comb from the ends up. I do this before I wrap my hair in a towel. Good luck!

on 1/31/2009 what about thinning shears? i had the salon thin mine that way.

on 11/17/2008 You are really waisting your time with that precious baby oil. Why not use something that is specifically designed to detangle. Please try the Take Down Removal Cream it is the best detangler on the market. It takes out dreadlocks for crying out loud.

Save your time and baby oil. The cream is oil based and it really softens your hair. They have a whole system for detangling hair. You can get free samples at the allbraiding .com website.

Learn to love your thick hair it isn't going anywhere. In order to learn to control your hair instead of it control you the key ingredient is PRODUCTS. What you are using on your hair makes such a huge impact. I would suggest that you stop shampooing your hair as much. Rinse with warm water until the water runs clear and then put conditioner on it. My suggestion, use mayonnaise. Do not rinse mayonnaise out with warm water, rinse with as cool as you can get the water and keep rinsing. After doing this the 3rd time you will notice a huge difference.

We should learn to embrace the beauty in our hair, after all it is going to be with you all your life.

on 11/7/2008 This is a horrible suggestion. Mineral Oil on the scalp is horrible, Baby Oil is mineral oil, you would be better off suggesting Biosilk Silk Therapy, John Freda Frizz Ease or even just tell people to use a silicone hair polisher.

The only way to eliminate tangles is by adding moisture. Tangles are caused when the cuticle of the hairs stick together trying to attract moisture. Moisture and condition eliminates tangles and frizz, not Baby Oil.

on 9/19/2008 for bad tangles, a silicone based serum made for tameing frizzies works well ..or mix it with some conditioner. apply it liberally & use a large needle to pick out the knots. Start from the ends & work toward the root, please~! I'm an old hairdresser & have used this method on weaveing hair & extentions too.

on 7/31/2008 You should never put baby oil in your hair, it is really bad for it. All you need to do to get tangles out of wet hair is saturate the hair with conditioner and use a wide tooth comb, combing from the roots up. Rinse as usual.
