on 1/10/2007 When choosing a foundation: goto a cosmetic counter and ask for a consulation. When you have found your match, purchase that a shade darker and a shade lighter

on 2/12/2007 To look like you're not wearing eyeliner at all, dot liquid eyeliner in between eyelashes. I find that it does not smudge as much and people can't tell if you're wearing eyeliner because even when you close your eyes, it blends in naturally with your lashes!

on 8/8/2006 Using a foundation brush to apply foundation is far more effective than using a sponge as it creates a more natural finish. Using sponges tends to create a more cakey finish. Always blend foundation toward the hairline to ensure you have no tidelines. Good, quality foundation brushes can be purchased from Mac, The Body Shop and Bobby Brown.

on 8/8/2006 Dot your eyes with a little eyeshadow that is the same color as your skin tone. Use mascara to accentuate your eyes, and use an eyelash curler. For the lips; put on a lip liner and a lip gloss the same shade of your skin. The point is to achieve a natural glow, so don't overdo it.

on 6/30/2006 Take a clean hand towel and put it in the microwave for 5 seconds. Once the towel is finished warming up, rub it on your lips. This will get rid of some of the dried skin on your lips and plump them up for a fuller (not fake looking) pair of lips.

on 6/30/2006 If you want to achieve a natural glow, you should use a small amount of Vaseline on the cheeks. Apply on the apples of the cheeks and blend upward. If used sparingly, this will give you instant definition and a sun-kissed result.

on 3/29/2006 When applying to achieve fuller eyelashes do the following:

Do not pull the eye, don't even close the eye. Keep your eye open and apply eyeliner (of any shade) to the outside corner about 1/4 inch. Stroke the area three times. Do rest of the eyes once.

Also, when applying eyeliner generally, keep the eye open. You may think that you are going to poke yourself in the eye (but you won't), and gently stroke your lashline with the eyeliner.

Always put eyeliner on first. In case you mess up you can smudge it to reduce the mistake and you won't mess up your other makeup.

on 1/16/2006 Never pull your eye to apply eyeliner, as has been suggested previously. This leads to drooping eyelids that do not close at night, and can cause blindness. I had to have ectropion surgery on both lids because of an allergy that stretched my eyelids. I was told all makeup should be applied toward the nose, not away.

on 12/16/2005 Put some Vaseline (petroleum jelly) on a moist toothbrush and brush your lips softly in a circular motion, this will leave your lips very soft and healthy looking.

on 11/22/2005 One must start with a good foundation in order to achieve that perfect natural look. The Clinique counter is a good place to start, which is located inside all Foley's department stores. Next, one must decide on their skin tone. For someone with an olive colored complexion, the color Warmer works well. The superbalance foundations seem to have like a satin type feel to it, and less of it needs to be applied. That is in comparison with the balance makeup, which calls for more. Now, as far as a concealer goes, Almay has a very good concealer stick and it is easy to apply. It will cover dark circles or just lightly shade the eye area. It can also be used to cover a blemish. You can do so by first using the concealer and then use the foundation on top. Next, powder and repeat the steps until it is barely visible. Clinique's loose powder is highly recommended for that final touch and to keep away too much shine. It can be applied after applying a little blush to the cheek area. For a dewy look, lightly spray your face with spring water after makeup has been applied.

on 11/22/2005 To achieve a radiant, fresh, natural makeup look, follow these steps:
1) Apply a sheer foundation that matches your skin tone or is slightly lighter. Follow with a light dusting of loose powder.
2) With a powder brush (large and rounded), sparingly apply shimmery bronzer to the cheekbones, nose, forehead, and chin. Blend all over your face.
3) Lightly apply a natural, warm or neutral toned blush to the apples of the cheeks (blend into the bronzer).
4) Apply a shimmery gold, peach, or light brown shadow to your eyelids, blending up almost to the brow bone, but concentrating toward the lash line. Go easy, especially on the browns.
5) Line eyes with a brown smudgeable eye pencil (unless your hair is very dark, in which case, use black or dark gray). Blend well.
6. Apply one coat of black or brown basic mascara.
7. Generously apply a clear or peachy tinted lip gloss without shimmer (too much shimmer looks unnatural, the bronzer and shadow are enough).

on 11/22/2005 If you are taking pictures, in a real photo shoot, to capture a memory, or if you plan to be on TV, it is OK to apply more makeup than usual. The people seeing this footage won't see you up close and will only judge your look from afar.

on 11/22/2005 If you are going to wear foundation that is darker than your skin tone, put the foundation on your whole face. If you put it on just the areas where you break out, it will look fake.

on 11/22/2005 For a natural look in lipstick, fill in lips with nude lipliner (liner that matches the color or is close to the color of your lips) and add a super-shiny gloss. Try NOT to have the color lighter than your natural color- this will make you look pale.
