I have a GE 115 Volt Portable Electronic Room Air Conditioner. It seems to be having problems cooling. No water collects in the water bucket although some (still a small amount) will drain manually. Anyone have any suggestions about how to fix this?

No air conditioner will blow 30deg air, The coil will ice up lomg befor that. Most air conditioners that have a setting for this tem, are heat/cool units. Anything below 68 deg on a window air is for the heat. The way an air condition worke is that it pulls room air in and and removes heat from the air. A properly working unit has a twenty deg split, that is if room temo is 70 deg, the temp being blown out will be around 60 - 62deg. The reason an air conditioning unit will not cool a room below 68 degrees is becouse as the evaporater becomes colder the presure drops, and when the presure drops enough the coil will ice up and there will be no air flow. If you are takeing the temp of the air coming out and it is 45 deg's then your room temp is around 65 -68 degs. Thas the best it will do. Now you can oversise the unit to bring temp down faster but this will result in short cycleing.
