on 9/6/2008 My fridge/freezer has a patch of condensation on the OUTSIDE of the casing approximately midway between where the top of the fridge and the lower end of the freezer are situated. Water droplets condense from this patch and roll down the side towards the floor. What causes this and does it mean the appliance is not functioning properly?

on 1/9/2008 My refrigerator is about 7 years old. Recently we have been finding water (some frozen) on the top shelf of the refrigerator. The freezer is on the top. I can't see where the water is coming from. Any thoughts?

on 12/6/2007 I am attempting to diagnose a refrigerator problem. The solid matter in the start relay was crumbled. I don't have an ohm tester and would like a quick way of determining if the compressor is damaged. Can a rattling start relay cause a compressor to burn out?

on 1/9/2008 My refrigerator is a freezer-on-top model. The refrigerator compartment failed to keep food cold while the freezer worked fine. I turned it off and defrosted the freezer with a hair dryer for 5 minutes which unclogged the vents leading to the refrigerator compartment. Was this long enough, or do I have to use the hair dryer longer?

on 3/1/2007 Nice informative article, great place to start if your fridge is playing up. Could maybe try fixing some of the problems yourself, try www.e-refrigeration.com or www.fridgedoctor.com.

on 1/16/2008 I bought a new refrigerator. It was installed and the temperature was set to 4. The manual said that I had to leave the refrgerator at this temperature for 8-12 hours before putting in food. However I was tired and didn't bother reading the manual initally and put in food and changed the controls before the 8-12 hours was up. After a time, I saw that the refrigerator wasn't cooling. I removed the food, unplugged the refigerator, and left it unplugged. Then I reconnected it, reset the temperature and let it run. By doing this, did I in any way damage or break the refrigerator?
