Anyone know?
Thank You.

on 9/11/2008 I work at a plasma center it is called talecris plasma reaources. in Huntsville Al it is located at 2420 Jordan Lane suite f. We do a screening of all potential donors to see if they are mentaly and physicaly able to participate in the plasmaphresis procedure, you will need to have a valid drivers liscense or state issued ID with picture, Your social security card and must have a permenant residence with in 60 miles from the center. We have donors that are repeat donors from all walks of life some with no jobs and others that have good jobs but face it who couldn't use 70 extra dollars each week for a couple hours of your time. It is used for making life saving medications for people that would not live with out these medicines, So check out a plasma center in your area to save a life and make some extra money.

on 8/21/2008 How to find a collection center near you

I had no idea there was such a short character limit on comments - I hope the parts of my comment don't get separated. the four parts are in reverse order the way eHOW shows them, so read down and start 4 comments down from here, the companies most likely to have a nearby center start there. (I probably should just write an how-to article on finding sites)

Hemerus is a new company, no data yet on their website:
http://www.hemerus.com/ (could well be that they are misrepresented as a plasma collection company, can't tell from the blank web page)
http://www.hemerus.com/

and lastly...
These last three companies are specialty plasma collection centers that pay more if you have antibodies from certain conditions, immunities or diseases.

Biomedics shows 9 (soon to be 15) locations in 8 states
http://www.joinbiomedics.com/locations.htm

This Biomedics site shows some of the locations from the previous link, but adds 6 more locations in the same 6 states. As of now, all of those links are broken, but at least you can see what cities they are in, to see if there is any reason to give Biomedics a call to inquire.

Advanced BioServices has 5 locations in 4 states

Interstate Blood Bank has a broken link, so you can't tell how many or where their locations are, but if you strike out on all the above, you can give them a call and inquire. (check the link just in case they may have fixed it)

on 8/21/2008 I've seen dozens of sites that claim it's easy to find the collection centers near you, but it wasn't easy. Here are some links that should help you, starting with the companies with the largest number of locations (all are searchable by state, so you can quickly run through them to find which are near you) The links are the direct links to the "find a center near you" pages. if you find dead links, back up to the main page (for example zlbplasma.com) and navigate to the donor location page

ZLB has 65 locations in 25 states

BioLife has 60 locations in 22 states, (says they're soon expanding to 68)

on 8/9/2008 Why should you not drink alcohol within 24 hours after donating plasma? Is the only reason that you will feel the effects of the alcohol faster?

where is this ''largest plasma collection/processing company on the planet''?
please tell me where in Southern California... I've looked at colleges and hospitals alike, and found noone offering payment for such a donation.

on 6/4/2008 if you want some more specific preparation information go to my ehow site http://www.ehow.com/ArticlePage.aspx?id=2195131&OriginalURL=%2fhow_2195131_earn-month-donating-plasma.html

In CA, they pay you up to $75 if you have the hepatitis B shot and $100-300 if you have or are willing to get an Anthrax vaccination.

on 4/3/2008 1.The Tattoo or piercing stipulation is now only a 4 month deferral.
2.Plasmapheresis takes longer than 30 minutes to collect even on a person who only weighs 110 lbs ( minimum weight) and they only donate 690ml.
110-149 = 690ml
3. Donating plasma will NOT deplete your Iron level. Your hematacrit ( an indicator of your iron level) is measure every time you donate, it is part of the screen process. It is the % of RBCs( red blood cells) as apposed to the total allotment of
blood product in the collection tube. It must be between 38%-54%
150-174 = 825ml
175+ = 880ml
(according to FDA guidelines )
4. The process is called PLASMAPHERESIS when you remove the plasma. Apheresis is simply the process of separating the RBCs from the plasma.

I work as a trainer in the plasma industry for the largest plasma collection /processing company on the planet.
