on 6/26/2009 ok last night i got to play clod and spilled hot pink OPI fingernail polish all over my light beige (frizee not plush) carpet. I tried the windex and let you all know it did stain my carpet blue so don't use it on light colored carpets!! I went and purchase 100% acetone from Walmart in the nail section and it worked and it was dried. So don't panic if you spill let it dry and buy 100% acetone....my section of carpet that i had to clean was 4 feet long....ugh. Now my only hope is that it won't cause the carpet to delaminate. blessings, aim

on 12/10/2008 My 4 year old son got a hold of my 14 year old daughter's Black nail polish this morning (Which I didn't know she had!!)and has put a number of spots on my partners medium chocolate coloured new carpet. I had no products to get it up and am now at work. I googled before I left his house on how to get the stains out. The stains are just sitting there until I get home. On my way to work I went to the chemist and got Non Actone nail polish remover, hair spray and rubbing alcohol. Then I went to the hardware store (Mitre 10) and all they could give me was straight actone. No ink or stain removers, unbelieveable. I took in what I had printed off the internet and asked for Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3 and some other products that were on there but they just looked at me like I was from another planet!!!.. I hope to god that something works before my partner see's it.. After sitting and dryng out

on 11/17/2008 I just spilled dark purple nail polish on my roommates light tan-ish carpet and i tried a little amount of acetone but it just lightened the stains up. Then I figured shout would work. So I used what I thought was shout but was actually clorox toilet bowl cleaner with bleach haha! But the stains came right up with just a little scrubbing. I was so happy!

on 10/24/2008 My 10 yr old daughter spilled bright red fingernail polish on my cream colored carpet. I tried dishsoap, salt, crayon away, solvent and nothing worked. I was ready to give up when I ran across a bottle of Sol-U-Mel from Melaluca. I used is straight from the bottle and it worked great. I just rubbed the spot with my finger, blotted with a towel, and repeated the process until it was all out. Everyone should find a Melaluca representative and fill their houses with there wonderful products.

on 10/6/2008 HAIR SPRAY, FINGERNAIL POLISH REMOVER, MOST IMPORTANT IS ELBOW GREASE YOU CAN FIND THIS IN MOST PARTICIPATING STORES. RINSE WITH WATER EVERY 10 MIN. TO KEEP THE ACIDS FROM EATING THE CARPET AND WHEN DONE DRYING WITH A TOWEL REAPPLY ADDITIVES AND REPEAT TILL POLISH IS OUT.
GOOD LUCK YOU WILL NEED IT!

on 9/8/2008 Hi,
My granddaughter just spilled red nail polish on my laminate floor and also on the area rug.
I used non-acetone nail polish remover to get the polish off the floor. By that time the polish had dried on the area rug. I sprayed on Spot Shot, used an old toothbrush and scrubbed. The polish disappeared! Eureka!

on 8/19/2008 My clutzy friend just spilled hot pink nail polish on our light, almost white beige carpet, and she mixed hot water, Palmolive dish soap, (so that the water was green and a little syrupy) and salt (I used sea salt from a sea salt grinder) and poured it on the spill after blotting up the excess. Work into a lather, and then cover the area with oxiclean powder, rub with a wet washcloth on the area, and then blot and rub (on the surface)with a dry dark-colored towel. It took two minutes and it is gone! You may need to repeat for a big spill, or a deep colored spill. This works on wine removal too!

on 7/25/2008 oh my gosh!
i spilled dark blue
metallic nail polish
on my beige carpet.
boy;;
it took a while to get out.
i used hairspray,hot water,
windex,foaming shoe cleaner,
hydregyn peroxide,
and alcohol.
and scrubbed with a tooth brush
and towel and dabbed. every single
bit came off! ;)thanks guys!

on 11/28/2007 FINALLY A SOLUTION!!
My three-year old granddaughter got a hold of my dark nail polish and spilled it on my light beige carpet. I rubbed fingernail polish remover and it didn't work. I tried carpet cleaner and it didn't work. I purchased the goo gone but it wouldn't come out and the smell was awful. Finally gave up. Now four weeks later, I tried hairspray and shaving cream and it didn't come out. FINALLY, I tried rubbing alcohol and it started to come out. By the way shaving cream and hairspray have alcohol in them. And after using the rubbing alcohol, I poured some castille liquid soap on it and it's coming off. I'm actually working on it now and it's working!!!!
