Comments on How to Cope With Not Getting Asked to the Prom

The last dance I went to, my girlfriends and I made a promise that since we didn't have boyfriends at the time, we'd go together and hang out. We'd dance with guys and all, but it was gonna be a girls night out. We had a blast. We didn't have to worry about where our dates were or if they weren't having fun. It was the last dance of the year and we weren't gonna sit at home just because we didn't have dates. Go with a big group and if you see cute guys there then dance with them!

Think of the 400 or so dollars you'll be saving, on average, and think of better things to splurge on instead of stuff you'll only get to use once.

you don't NEED a date to have fun at the prom.. i'm totally considering going dateless.. look at it this way: you won't have to "baby-sit" him, especially if he's from another school [i.e. make sure he's ok, not bored, not lonely, not left out]!! u can chill and be free the whole night without having to worry if he's alright.. and if u absolutely MUST have one, ask a friend from school, especially a guy who chills with the same people that u do.. at least he'll be comfortable and know people!!

Find out what time the prom ends and then go and stand out in front of where it is at. Then look for some friends and go where everyone else is going.

I did get asked to prom, and I turned him down. I asked a guy friend from another school to go with me. It was a lot less awkward and I could have fun with everyone without feeling I was flirting when I had a date.

Take your gorgeous cousin to the prom and pretend it's your boyfriend or girlfriend.

So you haven't been asked to the prom. Don't stress. Make yourself look gorgeous and go anyway. You can still have fun with your mates. You should go, because you may stay at home regretting not going when you hear everyone talking about it on Monday.

Consider doing something outrageous on your prom night. My buddies and I went disco bowling (bowling + disco = fun), and went to the local multiplex and rearranged the letters on the marquee to read something funny.

If you don't have a date to the ball/prom ask if any of your friends know of someone who wants to go...then pick and choose!

I recently went to a formal dance alone. My dad drove one of my friends and myself to the dance. We met up with a third friend at the dance and had our picture taken together. None of us had boyfriends or dates. We had so much fun! We got to hang out with our other friends, and one boy even gave me a carnation and kept flirting with all of us! I think he stole the carnation though, I found a quarter in the wrapper. I had a blast! There's nothing wrong with going to the prom or a dance alone.

Well, if you don't get asked by someone, that could mean they're too shy to ask you, so maybe you should make the first move. If that's not the case, then just think of the benefits of not going to the prom. Have some fun doing otherwise.
