Layer a black tank top and blazer for a casual yet chic daytime ensemble. A pair of printed denim pants keep the look from being too 9-5. Finish off the look with a statement necklace, cross-body bag, ankle-length socks and ankle booties. "Wearing ankle socks with ankle booties is really trendy this winter," explained Shifteh. "Ruffled socks peaking out from polka dot denim complete a fun yet polished look that's perfect for going out with friends."

Pair a bold blouse with a tailored blazer for a workday-ready outfit. Accessorize with a brightly colored laptop bag, an edgy statement necklace and on-trend heels. "90s-inspired mesh stiletto booties are in fashion, work appropriate and can easily transition from day to night," proposed Shifteh.

Drape a blazer over your shoulders when accessorizing a cocktail dress. "You can wear a blazer with any type of dress -- the key is finding a blazer that is the right length," advised Shifteh. "A longer cut blazer works with a peplum hemline, but it wouldn't work with a maxi dress, which would pair well with a cropped blazer."

Wear a blazer over a plaid shirt and leggings to achieve the ideal balance between dressed-up and low-key. "Plaid is an easy way to look trendy without looking like you tried too hard," explained Shifteh. When layering a blazer with button-down shirt, make sure the blazer is longer than the shirt for a pulled-together ensemble. Complete the look with a daytime hat, a colored rhinestone necklace in complementary colors, a cross-body bag and edgy ballet flats.

Wear a dressed-up skirt for a date-ready look. "Pencil skirts are universally flattering and can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion," said Shifteh. "The red denim pencil skirt adds a pop of color to the look and the material keeps the silhouette from being overly formal." Play with lengths and waistlines by pairing a cropped shirt and long cut blazer with a high-waisted pencil skirt. Punk up the look with military-inspired lace-up boots.
