Heading to the beach? Whether you're frolicking along the coast of Italy, swimming with the dolphins in San Diego or keeping your toes cool in the sands of Miami's hottest beaches, make sure your hair looks as fabulous as the rest of you. It's no secret that hair can get unruly in humid climates, so take your cue from celebs who rock flawless manes on shores around the world like Katy Perry does here.

Breezy Updo

Designer Whitney Port looks fresh on the California coast with this breezy updo. "This is a great look to keep cool and feels great to do with damp hair if you're running around outside," says Pastor. To control even the curliest of tresses, first apply a smoothing cream or serum to wet or dry hair. "Part hair in the middle and coil or braid each side. Secure hair at the nape with pins or an elastic."

Actress AnnaLynne McCord looks calm and collected in Los Angeles -- and so does her hair. Starting with damp locks, Pastor says to apply a curl- or frizz-control product, such as L'Oreal Professionnel Curl Satin, and coil the hair in one-inch sections. Then use a diffuser or allow hair to air dry. Use a medium-hold hair spray or finishing spray to seal the cuticle and lock in shine.

This wispy hairstyle, worn by actress Alexis Bledel, would look great on any shore. For a fringe similar to Bledel's, Pastor recommends using your fingers to style instead of a brush. "Brushes make fringe too round," she notes. After spraying the rest of your hair with a medium-hold hair spray, "take one-inch sections of hair and loosely wrap around a curling iron," Pastor says.

Rihanna had all of the volume and none of the frizz during her visit to Hawaii. After applying an anti-frizz product, blow-dry away from the face with a medium round brush. "To give hair that extra bounce and bend, hold the brush without air on it, letting each section cool as you go," advises Pastor. "Once hair is completely dry, apply L'Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil on ends for an ultra-healthy shine."

Braided Crown

Actress Ashley Benson keeps things simple with a braided "crown" secured at the back of her head to fend off the California heat. She plays up her natural texture instead of fighting it -- a beach must -- while the braids keep hair out of her face. For a cute effect, add some faux or real flowers to the braid as Benson does.

Actress Blake Lively's updo is super flirty, making it perfect for a day spent splashing in the waves. On either slightly damp or dry hair, apply a texturizing product throughout. Next, gently twist hair on top of your head and pin in place as you desire. Pull out a few pieces around your face for a carefree vibe.

Even in the humid Rio de Janeiro air, actress Eva Longoria's hair looks flawless. For a look as glamorous and perfected as this one, first apply a heat-protecting spray to damp hair. "The best way to get bounce and maintain a soft curl is to set the top part of the hair with large rollers," Pastor notes. "Loosely curl the sides and back with a 3/4-inch iron, take the top down and comb hair together and off of the face."

Actress Uma Thurman rocks a sleek 'do amidst the palm fronds in Cannes, France. To recreate, make a deep part and carefully comb hair to the back of your neck. Secure in a low ponytail with an elastic and finish with medium-hold hair spray. "Starting with damp hair gives a more head-hugging effect and hold," Pastor notes.
