You don't have to spend oodles of hours in front of the mirror perfecting a sexy evening hairstyle. Give your arms a break and instead opt for a look that whispers "simple and refined." For example, the faux finger waves worn here by actress Amy Adams are as sultry as they are effortless. Jackie Aina, makeup and hair artist and popular YouTube video blogger, calls this look "instant Hollywood glam," adding "I live for Amy Adams and this look." Learn how to recreate this hairstyle and other gorgeous evening looks.

For the classic look that Adams models here, Aina says to use a curling iron with a 1-inch barrel to curl equal sections of hair in the same direction. "Then take a wide-toothed comb and comb all of the hair down in one large section until the waves loosen and mold all together to mimic a finger wave pattern." Seal with flexible-hold hair spray.

"Ms. Lively must have been feeling adventurous with this one!" says Aina about actress Blake Lively's spirited ponytail. "I'd achieve this by pulling my hair back into three vertical ponytails, one on top of the other." Wrap small sections of hair around the base of each ponytail, tucking the hair inside until it's invisible, Aina says.

This glossy, understated evening hairstyle, modeled by singer Rihanna, can be worn in various settings. "To achieve this look, use a 1/2-inch curling rod and spray each individual section prior to curling to get maximum hold," Aina says. "Pull some of the curls apart at random for more volume." Finish with a glossing spray to get super shiny locks.

If you're running low on time, this look, worn by actress Lucy Hale, is the hairstyle for you. After you've chosen where you'll part your hair, curl medium sections of hair with a large-barrel curling iron. "Pull it back into a messy bun, leaving pieces of hair out in the front to frame the face," Aina says. "Hale's stud earrings really gave this look a classy touch."

"This is the sexy cut I wish I had the guts to pull off," Aina says. "Singer Miley Cyrus has been looking absolutely amazing since she ditched the longer hair." For this look, use a dime-size amount of pomade or molding mud and run fingers through your hair, shaping as you go. Use a comb to get a little lift and to separate the top pieces from the side.

Singer Kelly Rowland rocks a high bun with glossy fringe at the GLAAD Media Awards. "Not all face shapes can pull this one off, but Kelly looks absolutely beautiful," Aina notes. For this look, pull hair into a high ponytail, using a boar bristle brush to smooth as you go, Aina says. "Separate a section of hair in the center of the ponytail and tease. Then wrap the rest of the hair around the teased section and pin underneath to create this high-volume bun look."

Modified French Twist

This play on the standard French twist, worn by actress Scarlett Johansson, is perfect for summer. To recreate, brush hair to the center back of your head and secure with large bobby pins so that the hair sits at one side. "Place your thumb at the base, where the pins are, and proceed to wrap the hair around your thumb," Aina says. "It doesn't have to be too tight if you want it to look more tousled like Johansson's hair." Use more bobby pins to secure.

Actress Eva Longoria looks fresh and regal in this pompadour. To achieve a similar look, separate a section of hair at your front crown and tease. "Pull the hair that surrounds the teased section over top and comb it into place so that it looks sleek," Aina says. "You can pull the hair back into either a bun or a ponytail, depending on the look you're going for."
