Parents can feel the need to bring added entertainment on planes, particularly for long flights or if they have small children. But this strategy has a downside. “As a toddler/preschooler, my daughter especially loves little tiny figurines, creatures, animals,” says Jen Leo, a writer for CNTraveler.com and co-founder of parenting site BestKidsApps.com. “But they don't stay on top of the tray table and it's a pain to hunt for them under the seat. Guess what. If you bring her a bigger doll or stuffed animal, she'll play with that, too.”
