Sock Bun

Sock buns, worn here by actress Reese Witherspoon, are as sophisticated as they are simple and add mega volume without much product. "For this look, brush your hair, smooth it into a high ponytail, and secure it with an elastic," advises Philip B., hair stylist and founder of Philip B. Botanical Products. Next, create a "donut" with a sock by cutting the toes off and rolling the sock into itself. Continue rolling the sock into itself until it looks like a round donut, then slide the sock halfway up the ponytail. "Wrap the ends of your hair around the sides of the donut, roll the donut up toward the base of your ponytail and use a few bobby pins to lock it in place."
