What do snakes, Pepsi cans and spikes have in common? They make peculiar yet fashionable red carpet accessories. While most celebs go to great lengths to ensure they look picture perfect when making a red carpet entrance, there are those few who insist on pushing the fashion envelope. Some of their accessorizing is a hit, while other choices may just leave you scratching your head and pondering, "What on earth was she thinking?"

A Walk on the Wild Side

Cheetah print? Love it. Zebra print? Must have. Python print? Absolutely yes. Animal paw? Well, that's definitely a step in a wild direction. Blake Lively and Sarah Jessica Parker have both been spotted channeling their inner feline wearing Louis Vuitton's limited edition "Alex" Lion Paw pumps. The price tag on these "kitties"? Nearly $5,000. Me-OW!

We definitely know Paula Abdul is not a Coca-Cola girl thanks to her jewel-encrusted Pepsi purse. And while being a walking billboard can sometimes seem tacky, the shimmery blues and reds of the can's logo add a great pop of color to Abdul's otherwise subdued outfit.

The Grown-Up Headband

Headbands used to be for little girls to wear to the playground. They can also be deemed a tad too informal for a gown. Throw those notions out the window. Michelle Williams and Charlize Theron both wore headbands to the Golden Globe Awards, and Nicole Richie has promenaded around several Hollywood events wearing headbands that ranged from demure to crystal-encrusted.

Spiked Shoes

Is it a weapon or fashion accessory? Spiked and studded shoes have become a staple of the red carpet -- stars as diverse as Jessica Simpson, Dakota Fanning, Fergie, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively and Olivia Wilde have all flaunted this sharp look. This killer trend adds just the right touch of rock-n-roll edge to even the girliest of outfits.

Gloves

Seems like Madonna is set on leading the resurgence of gloves as evening wear. This time around, the Material Girl is focused on fingerless, leather gloves. She was first spotted wearing black Chanel gloves at the London photo call for her film "W.E." She then wore red leather gloves for the London premiere of the flick. Most recently, she donned one leather glove to the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards. She could also just be cold.

Slithery Accessories

If slithery reptiles give you the willies, then this unlikely red carpet accessory is not for you. At the 2011 MTV VMAs, Justin Bieber wore a baby boa constrictor as a bracelet. Why? Because that is what 17-year-olds do. After the awards, Bieber auctioned off his pet/accessory, with proceeds benefiting the Pencils of Promise charity.

Stylish Turbans

It's not the first time turbans have made a splash on the fashion scene. In past years, Kate Moss and Salma Hayek have donned these unlikely fashion accessories. While they may seem bulky or too casual, these headpieces can actually add the perfect touch of whimsy to any outfit -- for those who know how to carry them off. And, let's not forget, they can also hide a bad hair day in a pinch.

Houndstooth Prints

Houndstooth Prints

The classic print is a must-have for its sheer sophistication. Lady Gaga, who is known to rock sunglasses on almost every carpet, loved this standard print so much she went for houndstooth shades, which matched her houndstooth dress, shoes, clutch and hat. Not into the sunglasses? Actress Evan Rachel Wood donned some houndstooth pumps to the "Ides of March" premiere.
