Your finished poncho will be a square piece of fleece with a centered head opening and corners hanging on the front, back and arms of the wearer. A great picnic doesn't have to include the fanciest of meals or delicacies. Just having a good, memorable time is enough. Whether you are planning a gourmet meal, or simple PB&J sandwiches, its the little things that can make your experience a truly enjoyable one.
One of the peskiest picnic party poopers is dealing with insects. Ants, mosquitos, and other creatures can ruin your fun. To keep critters at bay, take a few mint sprigs with you and scatter them about your blanket. Mint is a great repellant for bugs and will keep them away from your area.
Another quick tip is to treat your picnic blanket. Take some large heavy-duty garbage bags and pin them to the underside of the blanket. This will keep you dry and keep moisture and dampness out.
