Crocheted flower girl baskets are dainty and elegant for a wedding. The baskets can become heirloom pieces for the child who carries it or for the bride to keep. You will need to know how to crochet single, double and chain stitches with finer crochet cotton or yarn. The crocheted basket will be immersed in a fabric stiffener, shaped and set to dry. The basket will hold up well for floral petals or a full bouquet of fresh or silk flowers. The crochet process takes about as long as it would take to make a doily.
