Removing Contact Paper

Contact paper can be very difficult to remove without damaging the surface underneath, particularly if it is old. However, it isn't impossible to peel up contact paper gently and efficiently. The first step is to get the paper off of the surface. To do this, set a hair dryer on its highest heat setting and, holding it a few inches from the paper's surface, blow the hot air directly on the contact paper until it peels back from the corners. Pull the contact paper off of the surface using gentle, even pressure. Apply more heat to stubborn spots, if necessary, until the paper peels up easily. more »
