Cheesecloth is a cotton cloth that is not dyed. The loose weaving pattern of the cloth and the strong cotton structure enables cheesecloth to be used to strain liquids from food. Unlike paper filters, the cotton in cheesecloth enables it to maintain its strength even when wet.
