01/05/07	How to Appreciate Death Metal Well done! Death Metal musicians are usually the most athletic of all musicians. Some metal bands do "jazz-like" improvisations, such as lead fills our solos that are really technical. Most non-musicians will have a hard time understanding the high level of musicianship involved in playing speed/death/black/ metal. You have to truely pick up an instrument to grasp the speed and accuracy of each song. Rock & Pop music does not end at the BEATLES. Check out Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Metallica, & Tool. These are some of the more commercially viable bands that a novice metalhead can enjoy. more »
