I hold a bachelor's degree in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture from Oklahoma State University. I enjoy gardening as my main hobby. However, I also take time to delve into astronomy, animals (we have goats, chickens, and rabbits), and writing. My favorite pastime is spending time with my wife and two boys on our small ranch in Idaho.

by thedomainerguy on 07/21/08 : Here are a few additional tips. -Be wary of sales or promotions when you register a domain as they are only good for the first year of the domain registration. When the domain registration autorenews the price you pay can increase dramatically. -Private Registration is where your personal details that you use to register the domain (name, contact info etc.) are hidden from public view -- this is something that many people find desireable. However many registrars charge extra for this service (it can double or triple the cost of the registration). 1and1.com and Netfirms are two registrars that include private registration for .com domains at no extra charge. -A good site that compares prices for different registrars and is kept fairly up to date is http://www.domainnamepricer.com. 1and1, Netfirms and GoDaddy all seem to rank well on this site in terms of price. ...

How to Store Wheat on 03/20/08
WriterGig, Thanks for the comment. The purpose of the dry ice is to displace all of the oxygen in the container. Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide. As it sublimes (goes from solid to gas) it fills the container and pushes the other air out. When using the dry ice as outlined above, all of it has sublimed before sealing the container. Your buckets likely have had the same treatment. Sealing a bucket before the dry ice is gone to the gas phase will result in a "puffy" or exploding bucket due to the buildup of pressure. The main goal is to remove oxygen that might allow for insect, mold, or bacteria growth in storage.
