: Just to dispel a couple of myths in your quick buck scheme. The tire company charges a recycling fee not because they make money by recycling but because they have to pay a licenced hauler that generates a manifest of any scrap tires generated by that business. These things may not become imediatly apparent but all big chain stores do have auditors that make sure their company doesn't get hit by a big government fine for "illegal tire disposal". They also have recently become aware that a big chain is a big law suit target for liability of used tires. I mean if you sell someone a defective used tire are you going to pay their damages an medical costs resulting from an accident? No ,it's probably going to fall back on wherever you got them.
