I thought this was pretty good, but it didn't stress the point of one of the most important parts of being a birth advocate - actually advocating for the mother to be. Once you know what the mothers desires are, you need to pay close attention to what is happening on the day of the birth, and be prepared to actually advocate for her wishes and desires. You are there as her protector. You need to listen to her and be prepared to be aggressive with hospital personal to help the mother get what you know she wants and help prevent unnecessary procedures that are best for the doctors and may not be best for the mother and child. Ad advocate should fully understand what the risks are with inducement, cecarian sections, various drugs they may want to use. Don't just blindly trust the professionals!
