Ron is a 58 year old business owner/entrepreneur who was “downsized” out of the corporate world in 1989. Unemployed, he began to research every possible financial avenue to pay for his son’s college education. Today he is generally regarded as an expert on college funding and co-founded of the National Institute of Certified College Planners, the only college planning certification and designation program (CCPS) for financial advisors. He and his wife Brenda have been married for 29 years.

by Ron Them on 01/22/08 : Some colleges are actually recruiting students as early a their junior year. This is usually only for the exceptional students though. Not the norm. Most students that apply to private schools early use the "early action" or "early decision' process. If this is your case, I would make sure your student's HS guidance counselor has his or her grade transcripts ready in September of their HS senior year and then begin the college selection/application/visitation process.
