by Dale Roberts on 10/28/07 : After spending a month traveling through Vietnam, I would not recomend taking many clothes at all. Unless you take care of your laundry almost on a daily basis, the heat and humidity soon has your entire wardrobe smelling like your old gym socks. If you find out you've underpacked, lots of fun places to shop for clothes. Don't was valuable lugage space on prepackaged food. Vietnam has some of the freshest, well prepared food in the world. Plus there are plenty of markets to buy packaged food. Believe me, look around, there is something to eat for everybody regardless of how weak their stomach is. Be adventurous, lots of fresh veggies, fruits, wonderful soups and don't forget to get your daily ration of bia hoi. (can be very cheap if you bring your own jug and share a round with the locals) ... more »   respond »

by skaizun on 12/17/07 : Maybe I'm just a little bit on the dense side, but I looked at the ebates site, & I don't understand it! When I click on a store link, it takes me to that store's main website. Nothing says "this is from ebate"; ebates doesn't give me a number or checkout "coupon" or any other kind of "proof"; they don't even say if it's valid online or off or both. If I click "offers", it shows a page indicating that I've been "registered" for it & that I needn't do anything else. I'm TOTALLY confused! (FWIW, I'm a computer programmer with over 30 years of experience, have been on the 'net since the 1990's, and have bought many things from e-tailers, so I know my way around! ebates, though, has me totally perplexed! Can someone explain it to me? ... more »   respond »

by Katie OConnor on 12/20/07 : Haha sadly maybe its that confusing b/c its that simple! Once you click on a link, ebates redirects you to the main page of the site you want. When you make a purchase, they get a referral fee, and you get a percent back which is "banked" until their next pay out. You'll get an email once your rebate is banked. Really, there's nothing else to it. ... more »   respond »
