I had a similar problem with U-shaped pillows but I found a travel pillow called ezysleep. It's got a device at the front that supports the head, so it doesn't drop forward while you're sleeping. They also do a kids travel pillow that we use for our kids whilst they are in their car seats and in their push chairs. I was always looking over my shoulder at my little boy as his head flopped around in that car seat! It's solved that. My wife even uses hers to read in bed. Well worth a look but you can only get them on the web.
