The article was very good. I had a friend who is first time involved with similar accident. He was not aware and they did not call the police, even insurance company said that it's not required. Now, he is worried about bodily injury claim, as there is nothing to suggest that it is a minor accident. The only photograph was the rear bumper which shows scratches indicating that there was damage to a minor extent and the amount settled for the Mercedez 4 door car was $1800. He is now concerned that how will the facts of the accident, which did not have a police report, go to defend him in a court? The insurance company had informed that they will deal with the whole case, and the bodily injury liability is $ 25,000. Is there anything in law that would protect against fraudulant claims?
Great advise!
pretty good info but... stretching comes AFTER the warmup, not before. Muscles, ligaments and tendons need to be warm prior to stretching so you can avoid injury. Also stretching has been shown in numerous studies to weaken and slow muscles for several hours after the initial stretch. (Specifically static stretching. Dynamic stretching is good to do prior to warm up. Since most people have no clue what dynamic stretching is, I will have to assume you mean static stretching. If my assumption is wrong, please accept my apologies.) So in summary, 1) Dynamic stretching/Warm up. 2) Lift. 3) Static Stretching
Thanks for the comments, random. I don't have any stats specific to bikes, but nos. 5 and 6 are generally the biggest fuel savers for cars. It's hard to do on a two-wheeler, but if you can accelerate at low to moderate RPMs, the fuel efficiency will move on up.
good tips! Can you tell us how much each of these might actually save us? I find habits easier to change one at a time, and I'd love to know which ones are going to save me the most and start doing those first. and thanks for the drafting tip. I know people who do this with their cars, but it's just too dangerous. On a motorcycle, a "small" bump at highway speeds is usually fatal - nobody EVER try this. A tip to add, if you plan to update the article (May be common knowledge to everyone who rides), but if driving at rushhour is unavoidable, take advantage of the carpool lane - this is available to all motorcycles.
Great article. Having the code of the law to quote is also very helpful in presenting your defense. If signs are properly posted, according to code, then it is not ignorance of the law, it's an inability to adhere to a law not properly detailed/achievable. One can't "guess" if it's not in the traffic code.
A nine over ticket is no points and no insurance increase if your record is clean. North Carolina also allows one member of your household to use a Prayer for Judgment once every three years. Your insurance will increase by 65% for a four point ticket. If you receive a 15+ out of state ticket, North Carolina will suspend your license so never just pay the ticket. There is more information at http://www.speedingticketcentral.com/North-Carolina-speeding-ticket.html
If you are in the state of california the deadline for reporting a discriminatory action is 300 days from the date of the last violation.
