Um. I don't agree that asking for references will "not be helpful" as there are a LOT of scams that come from China. People need to be aware of whats at risk. #1. Find a product that you KNOW people are going to buy #2. Set up a method of distributing these products BEFORE you begin importing. #3. Determine a competitive price that will help you 'break in' to the market. #4. Determine a fair profit margain that you want to make on that product. #5. THEN and ONLY then, begin negotiations with a foreign firm and contrary to what this article reports, negotiate a price accordingly. Remember, a slow economy means IT IS A BUYERS MARKET. You, the buyer has the advantage and if one Chinese exporter won't meet your price, move on to the next. Their loss, not yours, there are PLENTY of manufacturers fighting for your import business. #6. It is a buyer's market, which means you will have to more »

What if the thief reformats the ipod once he gets it back to his criminal hide out in the mountains? Won't that also just erase the itracker program as well, thus rendering the ipod 'clean' and thereby untrackable? Or what if the evil mastermind behind the whole ipod ring doesn't have access to the internets (which Al Gore invented)? Or if he/she/it has a security program running at their criminal base station which alerts them when a program is about to be installed and/or access the internet via their evil server? I'm not so sure about this itracker stuff. more »

I think this will save a step or two. I was looking for this function after textamerica.com pretty much hosed its entire community by shutting itself down to everyone and forcing everyone to pay $20 a month for an identical service to Facebook, Myspace, Blogger, etc. it was silly. Speaking of Blogger.com, I've found that they have the same direct mobile upload to your blog for free (except the pic message fee from your provider) You'll need to be sure you have a compatible cell provider to do this, I have Sprint, and they suck for this kind of functionality. Yeah...I'm pretty sure this needs to be 'Chain of Command' which is a common reference for organizational structure and/or flowchart. Its a good thought in either case. It is good to know where you will stand in the organization prior to being hired so there aren't any unrealistic expectations. In my case its the chain of 'reprimand'. I should have asked where I stood in that chain before I got hired. more »

This will probably work, but a word to the wise, it will definitely attract shady identity thieves. Especially on Craigslist where there isn't any recourse for scams and it offers them more 'anonymity'. SIM cards should not be sold to anyone. Even 'cleared off' SIM cards can hold info to be accessed by the more diligent of the shadies out there. I'm not being a naysayer, I'm just offering a warning to be careful when reselling a card that formerly held your personal info. Thats all. more »

excellent post! Sometimes, newspapers ask to see a portfolio prior to hiring out as freelance. If you've already built a portfolio for yourself, you're all set. If not, it might be a good idea to offer a free shoot or two to build your portfolio and have something to show around. OR just go out and take some interesting shots that are relevant to reporting and submit those as samples for your prospective employer.
