: I think,that a bird that has had a mate most all of her life,deserves to get another mate real soon after the first one passed away.Real soon.No toys can replace a living companion.Get the new mate,and keep him/her in a cage next to the lonely one for a few days or a week,to let them get used to each other.Then move the new mate in.Some toys may come in handy at this time,to get them something to concentrate combined efforts on,and form a bond.This way the period of lonelyness will not have time to make the bird sick and depressed.New adventures,and new love,will keep them happy :)
