Although I share the opinion that Taurus is materialistic, I also think there is a failure to acknowledge the reason that it is so. I am a Taurus woman and although I like to gather beautiful things around myself, my partner and my home it is because I feel a sense of security with "things" surrounding me, it is perhaps because it is a reminder of success (as taurus can sometimes feel a little dispondant, the fear of change or ruining what isn't broken can be frightening if a bad decision is made). But also it is comfortable to know that you have that self reliance. Also the mention of stubborness I agree with that unfortunately, but to look at that in a more positive light I would suggest the acknowledgement of enduring patience as a strong trait, as well as respect for tradition.
