Usually .. ferrets become ill at 5-6 years old. However, ferrets are prone to illness.. =(
I would like to see a little more on traveling. For example, should you take them out while driving? If it's a long trip should you bring their cage? How much attention should they get while in the car? Would it be ok if they sat on the seat by themselves? If you bring two guinea pigs on the trip should they be together, or in separate cages? How long are they aloud to stay in the car? If it's a long trip should I still do the regular routine of feeding and everything? I'm looking to buy a guinea pig or two (they say two is better) and I would have to travel to get them and my family and I go on trips sometimes and I would love for the guinea's to go! Any response would be very helpful. Thank you!
Hi this product is caled NUTRICAL. Everydog owner should have it on hand in the first aid for doggies kit. Yesterday my 1.5 lb teacup poodle fell out. If it had not been for this supplement I know he would have died. If they will not or can not lick it rub into there gums it absorbs. or put it in the roof of there mouths. It is really thick and they may chock if you put it on there tongue. If your pup falls out do this and rub your pup all over very vigorously to get their circulation pumping. It may take a bit but keep rubbing and the nutrical. Also you can give them Honey the same way. You should also know how to give CPR and mouth to mouth. Trust me I know as my little guy would not have made it yesterday , and he had eaten food. Be cautious of over warm baths and drying as this seems to make their blood pressure drop.
OMG! Same here!
Dried fruit can overdose them on sugar allotment and lead to diabetes. Avoid using any treats with any kind of dairy base, such as yogurt. Any dietary benefits from yogurt are lost on guinea pigs as they are complete herbivores. Only use sugar free treats and fresh veggies. Provide FRUIT on a limited basis, guinea pigs are as susceptible to diabetes as humans are. Oranges other acidic fruits should be limited as the acid can give them blisters on their lips. Oranges also are high in sugar. Learn more about nutrition on the Guinea Lynx website. It's a site that isn't trying to sell you anything.
Holy cow! Vit C degrades in 2 hours in water, not 24! I've seen the study done on Vit C in water for parrots done years ago. In addition, many people WRONGLY put a water based one that has all the WRONG vitamins in it along with the vitamin C. Yet another issue to address is that by putting it in the water, your pig will drink LESS water, which modern Cavy Vets feel is what has contributed to the issues with guinea pigs and kidney or bladder stones in the first place.
She's offering a tiny bit of decent information, but leaving out some really valuable stuff. How on earth can you learn anything serious about this subject in less than 2 minutes? None of her videos show much effort in producing or writing.
Agree with other folks. Finally she says something worth hearing. If you still don't believe what she's saying, go to www.cavyspirit.com and read up on it in more detail.
Okay..I should amend my comments. I was so angry I didn't give her credit for at least telling people not to use aquariums or mesh bottoms.
What an absolute waste of 2.38 minutes of my life! This girl knows nothing about MODERN guinea pig habitats and is simply reiterating old outdated information that came from people breeding guinea pigs to be housed in research facilities. It's complete garbage and made my blood boil when she showed that lousy cage and rambled on for 2 minutes without even showing pigs housed in APPROPRIATE habitats. I think this video should be pulled from the site. I'm glad to see that the VIEWERS know more about guinea pig housing than the whiny girl in it.
