Tell this person(s) that if you didn't participate in a carpool, you'd only be making one trip to take your kids to school. You wouldn't be driving them in 2 separate trips! That way of thinking just shows what people will do to save money/time. How about this -my family of 3 is going to our daughter's end-of-year softball team party where each family is to bring a side dish. Since most families have 2 kids or more and we have just the one, should they bring twice, 3xs, quadruple the food?? Of course not - talk about nitpicking pettiness...
