You are right and wrong. Many, many, many companies use multilevel marketing to achieve additional sales and revenues. Companies as large as Wal Mart offer affiliate programs, sharing a portion of the revenue from a sale based on the marketing efforts of someone other than their own. No one is trying to take money from anyone - simply offering an opportunity to make money by marketing a product or service that is created or controled by someone else.
