I have worked in the marble & granite restoration business for over 20 years, this article above is NOT good advice and can cause more long term harm to your marble. Your best bet is to use a "Marble rust remover" yes such a product is real, search google for marble rust remover solution or powder or google regent stone products and then use a marble stain removing powder to draw out the rust and remover that might be left behind. Then use a marble restoration paste search Google for MRP, and polish marble by hand with a nylon pad. Then wash marble and let dry. If you have an adjustable speed wet grinder set the speed to 175 rpm and use a white nylon pad to polish the marble. Doing these three steps will remove all rust and water stains plus restore your marble finish to a bright luster once again.
