    I have the disease and you mention FJD, it began at the age of 33. You mention above pain will occur when leaning forward, actually it is the contrary..pain is felt when you lean back, bending forward is very comfortable and often offers me relief. Surgery is actually very dangerous with this disease as spinal fusion may have to be repeated and you have to keep going up and up the spinal cord. There is only so far you can go up, as well as obvious risks with spinal surgery. The best and most important treatment for FJD is denervation, a minor key hole procedure than numbs the nerves.. and this can be repeated at different frequencies to eventually kill the nerves. It has worked for me for a few years. Above you also state that arthritis can be a misconception when diagnosing the disease. Arthritis is not necessarily a misconception

    I just field strip mine and hose it down with automotive brake cleaner or carb cleaner ($3). Wipe dry and allow to air dry. Shake can of break free or tri-flo really good, lube everything that moves with short spritzes, reasemble, wipe dry. Hoppes is really best for cleaning the bore no? Take it a gunsmith when it aint broke? MEH! Why the heck would i do that? Im not sure about this article
