I am one of those desperate people who can't support my pets anymore and one of then was a rescue! I took him from a family who had 6 dogs living in the back yard and he had developed behaviors that made him ineligible for the Humane Society - because he had had to fight for enough to eat, or to protect what he had. Now he needs vet care for a cyst, but I can barely afford to feed him and my other dog right now. I can't imagine what kind of person just abandons a dog. At least they have me to look after them, even if I can't give them the best life. I would adopt them out to the right people, but times are so bad right now, I'm not getting any takers for the ads I've posted with the services I got from referrals at the Humane Society. With headlines and news like we're getting these days, I think the average family with the means to adopt a dog, while they may be wonderful enough to adop
How about a photograph? I was thinking of doing something like this with a newer TV inside a console, but this. In that case, I don't have to saw the top off, and since the console has wheels, access to the newer TV isn't too tough. I'd either have to cut part of the "window" larger, or accept a little less vision area. It's a thought, but I would like to see a console fish aquarium before I consider making one.
Did it really work to hot glue it instead of sewing the pieces? I've got instructions from Simplicity for fit as you go, but sew it together. I don't trust hot glue and once you put glue all over the fabric, there's no going back.
Step 8 - Listen to Air America Radio, because Will Durst is a regular guest there on several of their regular shows. He's a very popular left-wing comic. If you don't have an Air America Radio affiliate in your area - you can listen to it online at http://www.airamerica.com/ where you will also find daily schedules and lists of upcoming guests - like Will Durst.
Step 4 - Recognize that Republicans find Democrats funny only if they don't realize they're listening to a Democrat, at which time, they dummy up and stop laughing. Try to find a liberal audience if you are liberal, or expect a really tough house. Should you be hoping to become a Republican satirist/comic the world is your oyster as there are actually no funny right-wing comics or pundits, unless you count Ann Coulter who is the Republican version of Sarah Silverman, only far more foul.
Getting politically involved will annoy? That's all I got out of this article. Compare and contrast this against your "How to Annoy a Democrat". In your attempt to be "fair and balanced" you've written here a general outline that annoys no one & in the other you've used this format to spread your opinion about the party to which you are opposed, including misconceptions & party line definitions of Democrats that have little to do with reality. It only serves to nail you as one more person with fantasies about Democrats they can't back up because they're dug in too deep in their fantasies and enjoy the combativeness. I would add to the list of things to do - "regularly read news from foreign press and from more than one country, as the media in your own country is now devoted to Britney Spears and any inane trash that will distract you from the horror that is being done in your name."
All your arguments only serve to reveal you as a Republican. You've managed to paint a picture of a democrat as a single-minded do-gooder and you're way off the mark. All your assertions imply traits assigned to Democrats that I find easily debateable. It is just not that black and white. The current situation with the economy drained for an illegal war and an education system hijacked by a mandated program that forced teachers to downgrade their curriculum in order to comply illustrates very well that these traits are somebody's fantasy of what a liberal actually may be thinking. Therein could lie the problem with partisan politics. One side is too complex for the other to figure out and the other side is transparent in their self-involved motives for participating in government.
You must not be old enough to recall the Clinton Administration. Clinton wanted reform that got people off welfare and into jobs, but Republicans were writing the legislation and refused to do anything about helping people get jobs. I am currently working 2 jobs plus selling books and art online to supplement my income and in this economy still can't make enough to support myself and my son without food stamps. When I renew my food benefits, there is a page on the application that explains that those who can't work have to prove why and those who can will be required to find work or they'll be refused benefits no matter how hungry their children may be. This wasn't what Clinton had in mind. He envisioned people acquiring independence from welfare with job training and more job opportunities. The opportunities are not there. I have a college degree and I'm babysitting and caregiving.
I didn't see that the comments ran onto 2 pages. I must ammend my comment and add that there are only 2 comments out of 10 that show an immature and rude response and I find this encouraging. Perhaps this community is just more mature and better behaved than other online communities with political forums.
