by Krisers on 07/23/08 : I did this idea tonight and I love how it turned out. I didn't do the embellishments around the frame yet. I just haven't found any I like yet. Also I made a bow for the middle of the hanging ribbon and it made super cute! I also added hooks to the bottom so I could hang my daughters head bands on them. She is only 4 months, so she doesn't wear bows yet. ...

Unfortunately, that may happen which is a defiantly a disadvantage to picking out your costume this way; but the cost savings may outweigh the limited choices. We had this situation occur last year at our exchange. My son wanted to be Superman, and there was one such costume that was a little too big for him. We dealt with the issue by giving him a chance to try the costume on and get a couple really cool pictures and then I encouraged him with some of the other costumes. He actually ended up wearing a really cool doctor outfit and he loved it. We did not hear much about Superman. I think this is a good situation to place kids in where they are forced to have to find creative solutions… so that they start to learn that sometimes they won’t get exactly what they want but they can still enjoy themselves.

Hey Larry, Try soaking the brushes in a bowl of water with some fabric softener added. Soak the brushes for a little while until you notice the paint coming loose. Then swirl the brushes around in the water and use your fingers if need be to remove rest of the paint. Make sure you rinse brushes well and then let them dry. Try that and see if it helps... Happy painting!
